Main Factors That Designers of LED Drivers Commonly Consider:

INTRODUCTION-

High-power LEDs are becoming increasingly popular in the LEDs market, and LED manufacturers in Delhi continue to develop due to their quick advancements in lighting efficiency, extended lifespan, increased dependability, and overall cost-effectiveness. There are two main categories of LED drivers: DC LED Drivers and AC LED Drivers. 

  • Drivers for DC LEDs A DC source, commonly a battery between 1 and 40 volts, serves as the input voltage. The torch LED in a smartphone, driven by a 3.7V Li-Ion battery, is an example of a DC LED driver.
  • Drivers for AC LEDs The input voltage comes from an AC source, often the public distribution network that runs on 115–230VAC. The AC voltage can power the LED driver since it is full-wave rectified as it leaves a bridge. The AC LED driver found inside a typical LED bulb serves as an illustration.
The critical variations between DC and AC drivers in LED driver design are:
  1. Level of input voltage: 

When compared to the input voltage of a DC driver, the input voltage of an AC driver can be considered ten times higher.

2. Input voltage waveform: 

While the AC driver operates with a full-wave rectified voltage that, in power, cycles from 0V to the maximum, the DC driver operates at a constant input voltage level, or at least with a voltage between a minimum and a maximum.

The output current waveform from the DC driver is constant. In contrast, the output current from the AC driver is rectified full-wave like the input voltage and has an average value equal to the total luminous flux.

Due to the variations mentioned above, various circuit topologies exist for the design of LED drivers, each with benefits and drawbacks based on important design considerations.

The primary elements that LED driver designers often take into account are listed below:
